SPRR and UPRR Travel Guides (1890-1900).

...five travel guides and view folios published a century ago by the Southern Pacific Railroad and its subsidiaries.

This CD contains the page images and searchable text from three books published in the 1890s by the Southern Pacific Railroad to encourage travel on its southern transcontinental line. The guides describe the sights and history along the SPRR and UPRR routes and provide information on travel options and accommodations. Here also is the Pacific Coast Album by Central Pacific & Southern Pacific Railroads, a collection of sepia photographs of the sights along the Pacific Coast routes of the amalgamated railways. And there is a booklet published by the Union Pacific Railroad, whose Overland Route connected with the Southern Pacific railway from Utah to Sacramento.
